Did Luke know that Jesus was God?

I got such a big kick out of this when I first "saw" it

Scholars acknowledge Luke to be an excellent and reliable historian. Luke wrote most of the New Testament, contributing more in terms of content than even his mentor, the Apostle Paul. Here is what Luke says about why he wrote his Gospel:

"Many have undertaken to compile a narrative about the events that have been fulfilled among us, just as the original eyewitnesses and servants of the word handed them down to us. It also seemed good to me, since I have carefully investigated everything from the very first, to write to you in an orderly sequence, most honorable Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things about which you have been instructed." Luke 1:1-4

Did Luke know that Jesus was God? Absolutely! :)

Here is one example from his Gospel

  Luke 8

38 The man from whom the demons had departed kept begging Him to be with Him. But He sent him away and said,

39 “Go back to your home, and tell all that God has done for you.” And off he went, proclaiming throughout the town all that Jesus had done for him.

  Did you see it?

Jesus gave this order to the man He had just set free from a legion of demons: "Go home... and tell all that GOD has done for you.”

Luke reports that the man went, "proclaiming throughout the town all that JESUS had done for him."

  Hallelujah!

(Note: "theophilus" means "friend of God")
